The November Specials calendar has been uploaded to the Calendar page. Have a great weekend!
Distributive Property of Multiplication
This is what hard work and perseverance looks like when learning the difficult concept of the Distributive Property of Multiplication. After two days of lots of hands on learning, we are moving towards the representational model. Love how my kiddos persevere in their learning!
Germs!!
Today, Mrs. Sanders and I swapped classes so that I could teach her students technology with our new laptops. Our brand new HP laptops, with Windows 10, are amazing, but definitely are different when it comes to logging in. So while I was helping her class, she had my class participate in a germs experiment that involved water and black pepper. The class loved it!

We began Close Reading today. I used Oreo cookies to introduce the readings in a fun way to get students to look at details. Students worked with their elbow partner, after the first read, to answer the "gist" of the article. Tomorrow is the second reading where we will "dig deeper" for understanding!
First week 2017
We did it! We managed to get the whole class logged on to our new HP laptops with Windows 10. That doesn't sound so bad, except we had to restart, restart again, and restart again! 😀 I'm so proud of my kiddos for persevering and helping each other. ❤

I am so excited to get this school year started! I've completed my classroom and ready for the kiddos to come enjoy learning. In a little over a week, they will be here and I absolutely cannot wait. I hope you enjoy the pictures. I did not change much from last year's room. I made changes towards the end of last school year. The kiddos liked it so much, that I decided to keep it all the same. Enjoy!
